Alyssa Scolari, MA, LPC, ACS

Alyssa Scolari (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and the SYTI Counseling group practice owner. Alyssa received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rowan University. From there, she began her career working as the lead counselor in Camden County’s Family Crisis Intervention Unit, where she provided counseling and case management services to children who were involved in the juvenile justice system. Alyssa then continued on to work as a counselor and consultant for the Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPD). During her time at the GTPD, she counseled children, teens, and adults who became involved in the criminal justice system and provided crisis counseling to families and individuals who were involved in traumatic incidents.

Alyssa specializes in treating trauma and eating disorders out of her practice located in Blackwood, NJ. She is licensed in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida and is offering both in-person and telehealth sessions. Her approach to therapy involves continuous collaboration with her clients to determine the best course of treatment. Alyssa relies on both her experience and expertise as a clinician as well as your intuition as the client about what feels right for you. She has experience in treating PTSD, Complex PTSD, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Orthorexia, and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. She also treats anxiety and depressive disorders, including OCD and Separation Anxiety Disorder. Treatment interventions that Alyssa has the most experience with include psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and exposure-response prevention. Off the Job

When she is not working, Alyssa loves to spend time with her husband and 3 dogs. She also enjoys reading, taking care of her plants, playing Mario Kart, watching the Phillies (go Phils!!), traveling, and lounging at the beach.
