Morgan Martin (she/her) is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) who received her Master’s degree from Rowan University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Mental Health from Stockton University. During her Master’s program, Morgan was a therapist intern at Total Family Solutions and gained experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger management, and relationship issues. Morgan also has experience running and overseeing peer-led support groups at the Mental Health Association of New Jersey (MHANJ) and has run the statewide virtual wellness center at MHANJ.

Morgan works with teenagers (14+), adults, and couples. She believes in creating a safe and individualized atmosphere for clients to begin and continue their healing journey. She focuses on using client-centered, strength-based approaches to best meet the needs of her clients; allowing clients to authentically express themselves in an accepting and uplifting environment. As a strong advocate for clients’ needs, she values collaborative and unique experiences for each client, all while creating a strong therapeutic alliance.

In her work with couples, Morgan has completed the Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training and uses the theories and interventions from this approach to foster relationship growth and a better understanding of each partner’s needs. She values creating space for both partners to experience growth within therapy as well as creating a stronger relationship foundation. By using the Gottman Method and weaving in other therapeutic approaches, your relationship can become a place of peace and comfort instead of arguments and resentment.

Morgan is a Licensed Associate Counselor (NJ License Number 37AC00735000) and is directly supervised by the SYTI Counseling owner, Alyssa Scolari, MA, LPC, ACS (NJ License Number 37PC00718700).

Off the job:

When she is not working, Morgan can usually be found reading a book next to her dog, Mazzy (named after Mazzy Star), and her cat, Ziggy (named after David Bowie’s album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust). In case you could not tell from her pets’ names, she also loves listening to music! Morgan also enjoys spending time with her husband and playing video games. To capture the way she navigates life, a quote by Socrates sums it up: “Be as you wish to seem”.
